Four area retired teachers attended the 49th Representative Assembly in Indianapolis June 18, 2014. Kaleen Krom, president; Kay Horn, Secretary- Treasurer; Stephenia Barkman, and Patty Hiatt.
Thanks to the hard work of the Indiana Retired Teachers, we again volunteered and reported over 1,000,000 hours. The final total was 1,086,889. Each hour is assigned a money value of $22.55. This amounts to $24,509,347 donated to the people of Indiana. Area #3 donated 104,401 volunteer hours last year.

Kay Horn accepted an Outstanding Volunteer award for Karmin Reeves and her work with Habitat for Humanity. Receiving Honorable Mention Awards were Carol Calloway, Linda Wade, and Phyllis Whitmore. The Clock award for Area #3 went to Frank Walker from White Co.
The Public Relations Committee awarded Fulton Co. an Honorable Mention certificate for the Website. Kay Horn maintains this and accepted the award. If you haven’t checked out the website; it is www.fultoncountyretiredteachers.org
The scholarship winner from Area #3 went to Allison Kate Manwell in the amount of $8,000.
There will be a Leadership Wkshop on Tuesday, July 15 at Calvary Presbyterian Church in Logansport at 10:00-2:00 for Area #3 members.
